TranscribeMe Minis: Meet Big Al

Image
Today's TM Mini features a unique transcriber indeed! 🤪 Meet Big Al! Big Al is our most prolific transcriber; he likes to work his fingers to the bone! He’s been with TM from the beginning when it was just a skeleton crew, approximately 500 years ago (according to him). So we asked what he likes best about working for TranscribeMe. He said, “I love the online community because I’m usually very lonely since I have no body.” “I don’t have the stomach for in-person work,” said Big Al, “but I could feel it in my bones that this was the remote job for me.” He told us that at first he didn’t have the guts to take the exams to open up more work. But he boned up on his skills, and he’s on every team now! When asked if he ever struggles with a tough transcription, he said, “Difficult audio doesn’t bother me. Nothing can get under my skin.” The last thing Big Al had to say was, “Working here allows me to afford my trom-bone lessons! Thanks, TranscribeMe! Have a safe and fun Halloween week

It's time to highlight another transcriber in our TM Mini series! Introducing Petra M. We asked Petra to share her thoughts on her time at TranscribeMe. What we got was nothing short of flattering! Petra had such kind words to offer about her job that we decided to share everything she wrote. We hope her story inspires you. Here are the thoughts of our wonderful transcriber Petra M! "From time to time I stop and give thanks to the Universe for such an amazing job. I started with TranscribeMe over two years ago, and it truly was and still is one awesome journey. When people ask me what the best thing about the job is, I always tell them that with TM it really is true that what you give is what you get. Your advancement and further job opportunities will be proportional to the amount of time and studying you invest. I started on August 7th, 2019 and passed my first exam to move up on the 25th, just less than a month later. That December, I was already a QA, not to mention my a

TM Mini: Meet Christopher P.

Image
Time for another TM Mini! Christopher P. is another of our wonderful transcribers who keep the show running. We asked him to tell us about his time and experience with TranscribeMe, and this is what he had to say: "Back in February 2019 I was looking to make some extra cash, and a post on Reddit gave me the idea of transcription. I liked the idea of being able to work whenever I wanted, not being tied to a particular schedule. I took TM's entrance exam but failed it. TM ended up on the back burner. Then in December 2020, almost two years later, I remembered TM and thought to myself, 'Maybe I'll try TM again.' I got in this time!" We enjoy hearing how people get started, but this next part is what really sets us apart as a great company. When asked what his favorite part about working here is, Christopher said: "That would be you guys. Seriously. These Yammer pages, with input from admins, etc., are a breath of fresh air." How flattering! Thank you
